Purple Coneflower 'Echinacea purpurea'
Perennial, Zone 3-9, full sun
Large purple daisy-like blooms with dark spiny cone-shaped centers. May be sown directly outdoors. A lovely addition to perennial beds and borders and nice for cutting. Attractive when dried, with petals removed, in dried arrangements. Height 24-30 inches. Tolerant of dry soil. Plants should be divided every 3 years in early spring. Cut flowering stems to the ground in the fall.
