OKRA 'Clemson' Okra is a member of the hibiscus family, related to the hollyhock, the rose of Sharon, and cotton. Okra loves humidity and heat. It is best to plant Okra when the soil is very warm. Okra is harvested every other day when the pod is approx. 3-4 inche long. Although you will find many recipes for Okra, it is best enjoyed rolled in flour and cornmeal then fried.
